Our Mission Statement:The Greater Baltimore History Alliance is a consortium of Baltimore area history museums dedicated to preserving, interpreting and promoting local heritage through collaborative community services and edcucational programs. Our Purpose:
About Us:Every year more than 1 1/2 million people visit the museums and historic sites that comprise the GBHA, a consortium founded in 1988. The 2,000 people who staff and volunteer GBHA sites look forward to personally introducing you to the area's fascinating history and heritage. Each GBHA institution has a unique story to tell. Through educational programs, these museums reach thousands of schoolchildren each year. We encourage teachers to contact the education department at each museum. There are currently forty sites in the Alliance and it is growing. The member sites all play an important role in interpreting the history of the Baltimore area for visitors and area residents. The consortium is a way for institutions of all sizes to reach new audiences through marketing and outreach events and cross promotions. Continuing education and special events are also offered for staff and volunteers of GBHA member sites. Monthly meetings give museum administrators and their staff a chance to find out what is going on around them as well where there are opportunities to learn from our neighbors. New member institutions are invited to join. |
